James' group KLANG will release their debut studio recording Tea Music on August 25, 2009. Checkout samples in Recordings> and a great Video> at YouTube. A CD Release event will take place at the Hideout in Chicago on September 23 and tours in late fall of 2009 and spring of 2010.

KLANG will also play the 2009 Chicago Jazz Festival on Sunday, September 6 in a special homage to Benny Goodman.

James is working on a large-scale composition for orchestra and female choir called who, if not I. The piece, commissioned by the DuPage Symphony Orchestra, is a meditation on environmental issues and sets an ancient Celtic poem known as The Mystery of Amergin. The premiere is set for February 13, 2010.
